Industry studies show that completing a successful acquisition is
difficult:
Most companies with active acquisition programs never
complete a transaction.
Most acquisitions that do occur are not successful.
Some lose money, and many of the rest fail to meet profit expectations.
Some companies are able to beat the odds and complete
successful acquisitions. Being part of this successful minority takes experience and
planning. Centering Corporation has the acquisition experience and the planning
skills to help companies complete successful acquisitions.
When an acquisition is successful, it can create
significant wealth. We managed an acquisition program for the Hunter Ceiling Fan
Company that culminated in the acquisition of Kenroy, a lighting importer located in
Florida. Four years later, when Hunter went public, Kenroy was valued at
approximately 10 times its purchase price.
COST-EFFECTIVE
SUPPORT
Unlike most intermediaries, Centering does not charge a
commission when a business is acquired. We charge an hourly consulting fee, plus a
fixed fee payable at closing. On the acquisition of Kenroy, Centering's total fees
were less than one fourth of the commission that would have been charged by a typical
intermediary.
